If you're a fan of CBC's Dragon's Den or it's American counterpart The Shark Tank, you can usually always recognize which business hopefuls have a chance at a deal before they finish their initial pitch - and which ones will walk away empty-handed.
Sometimes, people are unsuccessful because their product just doesn't break through the innovation barrier. But in fact, the number one reason most people fail to secure investment capital for their idea or product is all because of a poor pitch.
So, imagine how thrilled we were to attend Kevin Harrington's Perfect Pitch Presentation at the As Seen On TV Innovator's Think Tank seminar in sunny Florida last week! We know we have a great product and a great story (check out our blog about how GripStrips were inspired) and we were so grateful to get such amazing advice from some serious experts.
The rest of the Think Tank sessions with the As Seen On TV leaders covered so much ground, including networking, branding, licensing, digital advertising, retailing, distribution and direct marketing; they touched on all the elements we need to take a successful small business to the next level. We soaked up everything we could about how to create a successful pitch and getting GripStrips to a larger market, and we can't wait to put our new-found knowledge into action.
We also checked in on the status of our upcoming As Seen On TV informercial, which wrapped filming last weekend. So now it's onto editing - things are moving along quickly! We will let you know when our infomercial hit the airwaves.
